St. Louis Day 1: Success
Cavortress has arrived in St. Louis and we are proudly representing our hometown of Charleston, South Carolina!
The day began early at Charleston International Airport and ended in Cavortress designer Julie Wheat, model/muse Amy Chadwell, All Over It video blogger Sarah Jones, and I landing in sweet St. Louie.
We checked into Hotel Indigo--after a quick stop at the pawnshop to search for Julie's elusive horseshoe ring (no luck)--just in time for the 4 p.m. model fitting. Since model casting had to be done remotely, we had only seen photos of the models, and this was the first time we met them in person. Much to our delight, they were gorgeous and total Cavortress gals. Not to mention that the new garments Julie made for the Project: Design! competition are, in the words of Rachel Zoe, to die!
After the fitting we were famished and walked a couple blocks over to have dinner and enjoy the nightlife on South Grand Boulevard. We enjoyed some yummy sushi at Drunken Fish (great, but no Oku) and then sampled the bar scene, dancing and cavorting until the wee hours of the morning. Four Southern fashionistas certainly know how to cause a scene.
On the menu today? Checking out the Greek fest in downtown St. Louis--Mmmm Baklava!--and then getting down to business with a fashion show rehearsal!
